Arrietty, một cô bé tí hon sắp tròn 14 tuổi, sống giản dị dưới sàn nhà của một ngôi nhà cũ ở ngoại ô Tokyo, nơi cô và cha mẹ thường mượn đồ của con người để sinh sống. Arrietty, a tiny girl about to turn 14, lives a simple life beneath the floorboards of an old house in the suburbs of Tokyo, where she and her parents “borrow” small items from humans to survive. One night, her father Pod takes her on her first borrowing trip, and she is spotted by Sho, a 12-year-old boy staying in the house to recover his health. As a result, Arrietty and her family’s presence is eventually discovered, forcing them to leave the home beneath the floor.
